What was your thought behind this series?

“I wanted to play with perception and expectations. Many of the pieces for this show originated in a playful exploration of dichotomies that exists between outside expectations and inner feelings. Many concepts began within a working title such as “I am (not) a cloud” or “I am (not) a candle”, thereby exploring the discrepancies between expectations and the reality felt within the sense of Self. In essence this show is all about defining your own being in this world, about letting a relentless optimism guide you through life. It’s about celebrating the importance of always looking on the bright side.”

SHOW STATEMENT – With my show, “On the Bright Side”,  I wish to shed some light on the hope and positivity that resides within our imagination. We can be anything. We can dream. We can challenge negatives by embracing relentless optimism. We can immerse ourselves in the fluidity of becoming and by doing so transcend any rigid dichotomies that may feel limiting to our being in this world.

“On the bright side” presents surrealist escapes to real time challenges.
