COMFORT ZONE

on view at Beinart Gallery

November 22nd-December 13th 2025

With “Comfort Zone”, Dewi Plass has created a new series of work that allows the viewer to explore a selection of landscapes in which the concept of comfort plays an essential role. By creating intimate settings that move from the indulgence of comfort food, the solace within security and the support of companionship, into food for thought, Dewi presents us with worlds that encourage an inner exploration of what comfort really entails, and the many shapes it can encompass.

The concept for this show unfolded as Dewi thought about the constant pressure that is being placed on people in a time that is already imbued with distress and insecurity. Dewi notes that “In our society we are constantly being pushed to move out of our comfort zone in order to achieve great things. And while I do believe that this opens doors to all kinds of opportunities, experiences and life lessons, I can’t help to wonder what happens when we, both on an individual and societal level, can appreciate the quiet, private space of our comfort zone in equal measure? Can we claim a safe space? Can we allow ourselves to indulge? Can we immerse in softness, play with sweetness, and let the outside world be?

Comfort Zone is about moving away from all the world is asking you to be. It’s a place where expectations become memories, and a unique kind of sanctuary emerges. A sanctuary that can be found in the dawn of a new day, a quiet space in the forest, and even in the darkest of nights. It’s an ode to securing an inner harmony in a world of softness. And while the echoes of the past may still linger in the background, the kindness of the present becomes your comfort zone.
